Press coverage:

★★★★ (Four stars) “Lantz's doc might make you think twice about online heroes and villains — and about underdog stories that seem just a little too good to be true. Perhaps that color footage is the filmmaker's way of suggesting that, while "bright green nothings" such as the Eat More Kale case may come and go, Vermont abides.”

“Muller-Moore demonstrated “a pattern of misleading the public,” according to the film, and was in no hurry to end the trademark fight because the continued struggle was good for the business of “Eat More Kale.”

“What an evening! I knew it would be controversial but had no idea how much. Congratulations on making a film that will be talked about for a long time.”

Orly Yadin, Executive Director, Vermont International Film Festival

About our documentary film:

Ten years ago this November 16th, a Vermont T-Shirt artist known as “Bo the Eat More Kale guy,” took to social media to say that the fast food giant Chick-fil-A had ordered him to cease and desist printing T-Shirts with the words, Eat More Kale.

What happened next, Bo said, “The world responded.”

Written and directed by James Lantz, “Vermont and the Bright Green Nothing” takes a deep dive into a story that was broadcast around the world from Vermont, seen by millions, and moved over a hundred thousand people to physically do something to support Bo Moore and his T-Shirt business.
